Dear Valued customers,

We would like to share the latest update on the spread of a new coronavirus in the city of Wuhan, and our operational plans and guidelines in response to this crisis.

We are monitoring the situation very closely to ensure the safety of our employees whilst working towards minimizing any possible impacts on our operations and damages to our customers’ valuable cargoes. At this stage, we have not reported any confirmed cases of the infection to our employees within HMM organization.

Acknowledging the potential threats to the health and safety of our employees, we are taking all necessary precautions and preventive measures by accepting all governmental regulations and guidelines.

According to a recent Central Government notice, all companies have been asked to extend the Lunar New Year holiday until 3rd February for Mainland China. The re-open date is varied from city to city per local government authorities, and therefore our offices in Shanghai, Ningbo, Nanjing and Qingdao will be closed until 9th February.

The safety of our employees is our top priority. We therefore ask for your kind understanding on our limited in-office operations under this emergency situation. All our local staffs are on standby and will work from home to assist you with all your needs.

HMM Operations
1. Terminal Operations: Remained open and operate as usual except for Wuhan port.
2. Customer Service (CSR): Our CS teams are telecommuting and operating an extended on-duty plans to mitigate any possible impact to our customers’ shipments and cargo plans. Our staffs are open to any form of electronic exchange and will assist you via e-mail, fax, and phone call.
3. Vessel Operations: Our vessels and terminals will operate uninterrupted except Wuhan port. We have distributed the Emergency Response Guidelines of Novel Coronavirus to all our vessel operators and crews.

All our crews are closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary precautions to protect themselves from the exposure to the infection. The actions may involve more blanked sailings, port-skips and vessel schedule change.
